Character's Name Monella
Age 21
Gender Female
Orientation Males
Rank Weyrwoman of Bendort Weyr
Personality
Monella has a fierce personality. She is extremely liberal, meaning that if anyone yells at her for speaking her mind because of her gender, height, race, etc., she yells. She forces down their throat that she has as much a right as them to speak her mind. She loves history, old stories, myths and legends; so Earth of course intrigues her to no end. If she's stuck there for the rest of her life she could care less. A quick mind and an equally quick temper, she is one to be feared if given reason to be angry. But don't misinterpret her; she can be equally forgiving, gentle, and friendly, and always gives people the benefit of the doubt.
Appearance
Really small, 5'4" in height. Lean, long muscular legs, flat stomach, paled skin, her looks aren't intimidating, but they should be. Monella has silky hair that curls in long loops of its own accord, reaching down just above her mid back. Her hair is copper colored, with red highlights streaking down at odd intervals. Sparkling green eyes peer out from side-sweeped bangs, fierce and observant.
History
Her mother, Nela, was a blue rider, surprising enough. Her father was a green rider, M'rel. Born in Fort Weyr, she remained there as a Weyrbrat for her whole life. She was known just because she did quite a range of things; including getting lost for two hours in the caverns underneath the hatching grounds, scrounging as much information on Earth as she possibly could from AVIAS, and even saving on of the male candidates from death by catching him before he fell off a cliff. Everyone expected her to impress blue like her mother.
She was a candidate for three years. She stood in four clutches; the fourth was the only one with a Queen egg. So positive that she wasn't to get the gold, she was standing with the men (and the occasional girl). The gold hatched without her notice, and the gold sauntered right over to her and started scolding her for standing so far away. The whole grounds were astonished, to say the least, her included. She led Wrath off of the hot sands in utter astonishment as all the men laughed hysterically.
For a long time, she and Wrath were captivated by Earth and decided to research it. They found out a lot as Monella also researched how AVIAS turned the Red Star away from Pern and eradicated thread. She sometimes wondered why Pern accepted the Earthern ways after the thread was gone. Why would they? She knew some Southern Weyrs didn't, and still went by old Pernese traditions. But it wasn't enough.
So she gathered a group of riders and told them of her research on Earth and her dedication to jump /between/ there. After being caught trying to time it back to when AVIAS threw out thread for good, she'd been kept under closer surveilance; as a wing they winked /between/ before the Sr. Weyrwoman had a chance to even get drift of their motivations.
They appeared in Earth's skies, frozen and fairly lost. Luckily, Wrath heard the calls of a girl down below, and she took the wing down. With the help of the girl's people, the riders were taken care of. None of the wing was lost /between/, surprisingly enough. After speaking with the group's leader, they decided they'd stay there; Wrath was soon to fly and then clutch. After being told of Earth's recent disaster, they decided that putting dragons here would be good, which was what would happen with Wrath's first clutch.
Dragonriders
Dragon's Name Wrath
Dragon's color Gold
Dragon's Appearance
A layer of sparkling gold colors this fierce dragon, but with a startling shade of red dappled on her form. Dark gold smothers the backs of her wings and serves as a mask on her face, reaching down the back of her neck until it's swallowed up by the red-gold color of her shoulders. She has huge, wide wings, a slim and lean figure. She's huge; nearly reaching old Ramoth's size, which no other queen had been able to boast before, earning herself second largest dragon of Pern.
Dragon's Personality
Wrath is not named so for nothing. She is not your normal queen; she has no vices of getting down and dirty, she lashes and she gets right down to the nitty gritty. Instead of her being safe away and hiding she's out there in the front line snarling and hissing like everyone else. She doesn't necessarily have a temper, but she's willing to voice her opinions and shove them down others' throats. If you tell her she can't have a decision in something because she's female, just like her rider, she'll be willing to tear your throat out to tell you otherwise. This is one dragoness you do NOT want to piss off. But to those who are on her good side; you'll see she's quite willing to listen and help you through anything.
